Workshop for Parents
This is a workshop for parents of adolescents in their early teens (13 – 16) or for those parents who have children about to enter their teenage years.
A child’s behaviour does not just affect your child, it may cause discomfort for you, for family and for friends. You may have tried many approaches with your child but nothing seems to work, they still fight and argue with you. The situation may have reached the point where you have run out of ideas and life seems a struggle and out of control.
The workshop will cover some of the following areas:
- Issues related to teenage years
- Identifying your parenting styles
- Communication skills
- Discipline techniques
- Methods of conflict resolution
This workshop will offer you teen parenting tips and advice and will go a long way toward improving your troubled teen’s behaviour and help you keep the lines of communication open while you rebuild your relationship. Workshops are on a Saturday and start at 10.00hrs and end at 17.00hrs. Hot and cold drinks (and biscuits) are included, and lunch may either be brought in or enjoyed at a local pub or cafe.
The courses are across Kent.
Workshop for Counsellors
When I completed my initial counselling qualification – I wondered how to set up a counselling business. There were three main areas that concerned me:
- How do I actually set up my counselling business?
- Where do I find my clients?
- What do I need to keep account of?
I have now established my business and feel that my experience of that process, as well as my extensive background in Public Relations, may benefit others. The workshop is aimed at newly qualified counsellors or those within their final year of training and those who want more information on marketing themselves and their business.
This workshop will cover the following areas:
- What you need to do to set up your business
- PR and Marketing
- Website Tips
- Thinking outside the box
- ‘Individual time’
Workshops are on a Saturday and start at 10.00hrs and end at 17.00hrs. Refreshments are included, but not lunch. The cost of the course is £70 (Prices may be subject to change). The courses are run across Kent.

Video Counselling Workshop
Dr Moira Walker in her report on “Mental Health Treatment Online” (Nov 2007):
“The ISHMO (2000) also states that those providing services over the internet need specific training including technology, theory, applications, and ethics and that this should be undertaken in the same way as training in traditional approaches.”
We offer one day training workshops for counsellors/ supervisors/managers. The Training Courses are designed to be practical, thought provoking and informative, and can count towards your own CPD commitment.
Our Counsellors Workshop explores:
- The hope, fears and expectations of working online
- The advantages and drawbacks of working online
- Reviews the practicalities of working online and provides the chance to practice online work in the safety of the classroom
- Investigates the ethical issues of working online and looks at how we can keep the client and therapist working together safely
- Contracting issues specific to online work
The cost of the course is £70 (Prices may be subject to change). The courses are run across Kent.
