"Change is painful, but nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don't belong."
All the counsellors and coaches on the Find You…Be You Team are qualified, professional and have the required insurance. They are committed to personal development and updating their knowledge on an ongoing basis.
The client is paramount and at the core of my work. Together we will build a strong working relationship, which is the single most important aspect of successful therapeutic work.
Sometimes you can become stuck in a place where you don’t want to be, or feel overwhelmed by the pressures of home, peers, grief, anxiety, or life in general. Together, we can work through these, and other, issues you may have which are troubling you, and we will work towards a deeper understanding and finding ways forward that work for you. The focus is on you, your well-being, building your inner resources and strengths.
I am a person-centred counsellor and offer a confidential, non-judgemental and supportive space to talk about and explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are causing you pain and confusion. Our work together can help you understand yourself better and facilitate change. I offer a free initial telephone conversation to help us get to know each other, find out what has brought you to counselling and whether working together may be able to help you.
I am an integrative therapist which enables me to employ a variety of techniques and counselling methodologies in order to tailor sessions to individual needs.
I work with you to establish a therapeutic alliance, by providing a safe space that enables us to work together, in confidence. Together we process issues that concern you and together agree a course of action towards an agreed goal.
There will be an initial consultation, this may be with an individual or an employer seeking coaching services. The consultation will establish need and whether coaching is an appropriate approach.
The working relationship in coaching is important. Where coaching is agreed to be the appropriate approach, an initial 5 session contract will be offered. A review will take place in session 4. This will allow for a planned ending or establishing the focus of potential future coaching support.
Where the contract is initiated by an employer further coaching work will rest with and be shared with the employer and coachee.
My endeavour is to offer my clients a space where they can explore their feelings in a safe and non- judgemental way. Developing a trusting and collaborative relationship is paramount to my way of working. I trust in my clients that they can make their own choices in life and therefore hold them central to the therapeutic process.
I can understand that it can be difficult to talk to family and friends in a time of crisis and therefore I strive to offer a different type of relationship. A relationship where you may experience warmth, feel heard and inevitable feel understood.
I am currently working in primary schools; whereby I offer counselling to children aged 5-11 years. This work allows me to work in a creative way, which includes sand- tray work, artwork and imaginative pretend play. Due to my ongoing practice with children and young people; I ensure that I have regular safe-guarding training and I also seek out useful workshops; that will inevitably support my practice. I engage in monthly clinical supervision, with an experienced child and young person supervisor. This ensures that all my client work is held and kept safe.
I am a Person Centered Counsellor working in a non-directive way. This means you are free to use your session to explore whatever aspect of life is important to you; such as relationship difficulties, bereavement, job-loss or perhaps you just would like to get to know yourself a little better. The person centered approach allows us to work together at a pace that suits you in a non-judgmental, safe and confidential environment. I offer open ended counselling with regular collaborative reviews. I am a registered member of the BACP and work to their ethical framework, ensuring high standards and evidence based practice.
